Finding Meaningful

A perfectly good apple, one bite less than whole, discarded on the side of the road.  I notice it while I’m out walking.  Lately, from a place of quiet desperation, I am searching for a sense of my own purpose, and so the apple troubles me.  Just a few days later I see the apple is still there.  Mostly hollowed out by insects.
