Valerie
Nearly ten years now the Word Pirate, I’m still blind as a bat, with hopelessly tangled hair, and I continue to content myself with pillaging and plundering the English language in search of word treasure. I currently live in Pennsylvania with my little black cat Pixie, in our tiny house on wheels. Landlocked, and I miss being close to the ocean, but I’m still loving the life I currently have.
Hello Valerie!
I just nominated you for an award. If it’s not your thing I understand, just wanting to show you some love for showing me love. If nothing else it will bring some traffic your way. 🙂

Glynis, thank you, dear sweetie! I’m honored! I accept, and I will be passing it along! Hugs, my friend! xx
Hi,
I’ve been talking to Thomas Marlowe and we are both missing the Trifecta Challenge. One thing led to another and we have decided to set up Light and Shade Challenge where there are prompts twice every week and a chance to share what inspiration strikes.
We are not trying to be the same as Trifecta. They were awesome and I miss them. We do have some really exciting ideas of our own, though and can’t wait to see what happens. It would be great if you could come and join us and see where this journey takes us. Good writers are always welcome. If you have any questions then get in touch either on the Light and Shade Challenge Blog http://lightandshadechallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ or on the Facebook page. It would be wonderful to hear from you. I see pictures with feeling from your words. Great. 🙂
Angela, thank you so so much for such a beautiful comment. It really means a lot. 🙂
Hi Valerie,
It has been over 20 years since we have seen each other. I recently found you online and have enjoyed your writing. My maiden name is Black. Do you remember me? You can get in touch via my email if you’d like to reconnect.
Linda
Hi Linda! I certainly do remember you! What an incredibly amazing surprise to hear from you, and I’ll email you!
By your comment I was able to follow an invisible thread to magically end up here in your peaceful painted island of words. Beautiful they are too. Peace
Thank you so much. I consider that such an honor from someone whose words about which I can very much echo the same sentiment.
